Zimbabwean Students Develop A Promising E-Learning Platform

Inspired by the spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation, University of Zimbabwe engineering student and computer programmer Andrea Simbarashe, together with his peers Deane Nhokwara and Takudzwa Caitano, have launched a database driven e-learning platform called Alpro.

The three young and audacious entrepreneurs have been working on the product for the past 2 months following the sale of their first startup named Globe Connect to a South African investor. They have used the funds from to sale to start a new venture called Alpro Technologies and build this revolutionary e-learning app.

Alpro is a content management, sharing and search software which allows students and teachers to search for online resources (e-books, notes and custom made examinations), share them with other users and manage their content using advanced cloud storage and database software. Alpro also allows parents to track their children’s learning progress from the platform through the use of comprehensive and specific analytics. As if that is not enough, corporates and companies can recruit the best talent on our platform by using our opportunity hub tool which allows them to upload opportunities such as job and attachment opportunities.

Alpro is a flexible app offering content and courses from primary up to university level. It boosts of a database of 1 000 000 practice tests from ZIMSEC,Cambridge,EDXEL,METRIC and other examinations boards , 50 000 e-books and millions of notes .In addition, it also offer instant search results  of  topics in diverse fields of study. The CTO and developer Andrea described Alpro as the “Google of Education” because you can get anything you want from anywhere as long it is something related to education.

Alpro is set to disrupt the education sector in Zimbabwe and every student is encouraged to use this game changing and easy to use e-learning portal. Alpro can be accessed on alpro.co.zw. The team is working on the android and iOS apps which will be available soon.
